Booting in Safe Mode

When your Windows does not want to boot normally, the first thing to try is always to boot in Safe Mode. Safe mode means that only a minimal set of drivers is loaded, and graphic resolution is limited to VGA (640x480) or SVGA (800x600). To do that, reboot the PC, and once the Windows logo appears, press F8. This should give you approximately the following menu:

windows, boot menu, booting

Windows Boot Menu

Once here, select Safe Mode and press Enter. Alternatively, you can also try to load network driver if you select "Safe Mode with Networking". The last option, "Safe Mode with Command Prompt", is the minimal possible one - it does not even load the Windows graphical interface.
