Forgot my password

This is something that happens to many of us - you make a new Windows user account, and then you just can't seem to remember the password the next day. Or perhaps you have an older account which you haven't been using for a while, and suddenly need to access.

Now, what to do? No need to panic - there are several possibilities for recovering or resetting your used password in Windows. The most obvious and simple thing to do is to log in with an administrator account and go to user account administration in the Control Panel:

windows, user accounts, accounts

Windows user accounts administration

and then to reset the password for your personal user:

windows, user accounts, accounts, password

Change Windows user password
